Best Usage of Amex Platinum Travel Card (2023)

This card is a go-to card for all spending you do in your daily life and there is no need to think twice on you are getting the best return for this spend or not. Its rewards structure is designed simple and best in its type. It will give rewards for all your spending directly or indirectly through milestone reach. Start to use this card and it will start accumulating rewards when you reach your milestone you will see a bag full of rewards getting credited to your account.

Regular Rewards: 1 Membership reward for 50 rupees spent.

Milestone 1: Get 15K Membership rewards when you spend 1.90Lacs in the card anniversary year.

Milestone 2: Get another 25K Membership rewards when you spend total 4Lacs in the card anniversary year. And 10K worth of Taj vouchers to stay in selected Taj hotels.

Just spend 4Lacs on this card in a year and move this card out of your wallet till the next anniversary year start.

If you add regular rewards, milestones, and Taj vouchers it is giving a return of around 7 to 10 % depending on how you redeem them. If you redeem on travel or hotel booking then the best value can be extracted on this card.

Once you reach both milestones of this card, you can get the best reward of this card by transferring your membership rewards to Marriat Bonvoy points which will help with accommodation for future travel.

I have not covered regular lounge access and fuel surcharge waiver as this is a premium card and these features should be there on this category of the card.

Currently, Amex is running a referral program where if you enroll for this card by my referral then you will get this card as a first-year free and also a 2K Membership reward once you start using this card.

The fee for this card is 5K per year but you will get 5k worth of Membership Reward points when you call their customer care and ask for it. So this card will come with a fee of 900Rs which goes for GST.
